Visa completed

Thank you all for your wonderfully supportive comments. Amy, we are doing the ibuprofen/tylenol alternating. I brought every type of meds I could to cover all bases so I have that. I was running low on ibuprofen so our facilitator helped me get the russian equivalent in case we run out before the teething lets up. I even bought a pacifier, just to see if it would help but so far he doesn't get it, which isn't really a surprise. As I was leaving the room to come to this computer Jack was in his crib asleep but crying and tossing. I feel so bad for him. I can see the teeth coming in, and in fact, his eye tooth area has some blood around it as we saw the tip of that tooth today. The part I really don't like, other than the fact that he's in a lot of pain, is that he GRINDS the molars he has and then cries. It's like nails on a chalkboard and I'm worried about his teeth, though they are baby teeth so they aren't going to be permanently ruined.

So, enough about that. Thanks for all the encouragement for the next plane ride. I appreciate all the prayer. I'm desperate for it. It helps to know we're not the only ones. In fact, today we went to the US Embassy to get Jack's visa and there were many other adopting families. There were several families that mentioned their children were acting the same way Jack is, with the tantrums and getting into everything. It's normal... whew!

So, thanks again for all your support. I really, really appreciate it. Some of you might understand, but most might not have any idea how grateful I am to have all of you out there. I'm so glad we only have a few more days and then we're home sweet home... where Jack will be able to cry for as long as he wants and we won't have to worry about the Russian people calling the cops on us for neglect.... Until next time!

Prayers are being sent daily on your behalf...I so know what you are going through and am eager for you to be able to come home with your precious boy, too. Tantrums will hopefully be fewer as Jack learns to trust you all and as communication improves. Signing really helped us and still does as Colin starts to learn the language. If you need something specific in Russian, like, "stop doing this" which we used when C. hit his head, please let me know.

As Heather Brandt said; yes, our prayers are being sent daily on your behalf.. As I go to church on Sunday, in Sunday School, I will be requesting prayer for you guys, for everything.

I, know you guys want to be home now, but soon, before you know it, you will be home safe and sound and getting back to a normal life.

Tantrums are normal, both of my kids had them, and they are young adults now. (I, believe it is call the terrible twos) it won't last forever. It is just a stage of life..

It is good to know words in Russian just in case to help Jack understand you and what you need for him to do, until he understands English.

Thanks for writing and updating the post. Congrats on Jack's visa, another answer to prayer.

Until next time, my love to the three of you...

Michelle, I am really enjoying reading along with your blog, and preparing myself for our second trip... albeit several months away since we're leaving for trip 1 next week. Can't start preparing too soon if you ask me. =) I went on your personal blog, your catering and baking, etc. You are so cool! I love it. I will say prayers for the end of your trip and that Jack's teeth/gums start feeling better. a cool (temperature) teether toy or even a cool washcloth to suck on/chew on might help! Kara

I am happy to hear Jack’s Visa is completed! I keep the 3 of you in my prayers daily.

Jack has a lot going on with the teething, adjusting to parents and surroundings; however, he will adjust, children are resilient. I have been reading your blog all along and I can tell you and David are doing a fine job.
