This morning was so sweet. Jack popped up from his crib and stared at us. (Our bed is in same room as crib. We decided to upgrade to a suite so we wouldn't have to tiptoe around him. I'm so glad we did as it wasn't too much more per night.) I got him out and brought him back to the bed and he was very interested in the covers. He seemed kind of slow moving so I turned him and he laid back, in between me and David and we stayed there together with Jack playing with the covers and then our fingers and such for a long time. What a precious moment.
He'd had enough and off we go. We got him fed and then had a nice, calm morning. We still had to keep him occupied but it was calm at least. Then it started. Not sure how, but he started getting cranky and when it was time for lunch he didn't want to eat. (he'd eaten everything before) It seemed like he wasn't feeling good but I couldn't tell for sure if he was just being irritable. He went down for a nap pretty quickly but was very restless and didn't sleep quite the whole scheduled amount of time. We went out again after he got up, like we did yesterday, but he didn't seem like himself and was kind of whiny.
When we got back he seemed a little warm to me. We tried to take his temperature but he pulled it out from under his arm before it finished. Even still it was a little over 100ยบ and I don't like that. We have OTC medicine for him and started him on it before dinner. We tried to feed him and he did eat a little more but just didn't feel well enough to finish.
After a little while longer we decided to let him sleep, which seemed like what he wanted to do, even though it is a little early for him. He might wake up in the middle of the night, but that's ok. We'll be keeping an eye on his temperature but please continue to keep us in prayer. I'm not tremendously worried because it's not like we're in a third world country, but I'd like to not have to get a doctor involved.
Thanks for all your wonderful comments. It's nice to see notes from home as it's really starting to get a little 'old' being here.

Are those the PJ's from Jon and Sarah he is wearing? I hope Jack starts feeling better and he is NOT coming down with anything. Ha Ha love the "J" on his jacket, how cute! Mark and I could tell from your voices the other day we talked that ya'll were ready to come home. WE are ready for ya'll to be home...not only to see and meet our nephew, but you guys are missed. We love you and see you soon!
oh yeah...ha ha he looks guilty or something in that last pic. Love it! Maybe we can chat again later.
You know what I told Ed this morning... I think he looks like you guys :-) No worries, his fever will pass and it could just be emotional! Kids do that sometimes. (Yes, i can post now I finally reset my password)
How many more days until welcome to america?
I love the J in his jacket, it just fits with his name and how he is wearing it. I am sorry to read that he is not feeling well. We will keep him and you guys in prayer.
That is great that you upgraded to a suite. I am sure it not fun having to tip around around the room when he has his naps.
We look forward to seeing you guy home...
My love to the three of you..
Hang in there guys! We are praying for you! It was tough for us to hang in at the end of our stay in Kras too. You can do it!
Well pray that Jack has a speedy recovery :0)
Blessings in Christ,
Lyn and Dennis Franks
I love the letter J on Jack’s coat; I thought you had bought it on purpose.
Sometimes, children run fevers due to teething or just not feeling well. I hope he gets to feeling better! When Jack woke up and was looking at you and didn’t cry because he was in a different environment; I thought that was a good sign he is adjusting. Your cuddle time sounded so sweet!
As I was talking to my mother this afternoon, while working on the newsletters for MTH, I told her that Jack is not feeling well. She said that she would be praying for you guys. I, told her I thought (the reason why) Jack doesn't feel well, is because he is teething.
BTW, did you bring any baby gum medicine to help his teeth? Can't seem to remember the name of that brand that does that... If there is some thing like that there (gum medicine), maybe you guys can pick up a tube. Do they have pharmacies there or a food store that carry stuff like that?
Hello! I was going through your blog withdrawal as it was a crazy busy weekend for us...BUT was SO EXCITED to see the first pics of Jack!! He's truly precious and his little tummy is just edible. :) Congratulations you two!!! Aren't mornings the best?? It's so sweet when they wake up happy like that...makes for great family times! We too will be praying that he's feeling better soon. I'm sure all the changes are just making him a little more pooped - and yes, teething could be the culprit. It sounds like he's in transition of going from two naps to one which is typical at about this age. You'll get to know his schedule very soon!! Hugs & kisses to all.
